Upstream Outfitters was built around a simple idea: some of Missouri’s best fishing is found away from the boat ramps, crowds and big water.
We specialize in guided kayak fishing trips for smallmouth bass on Missouri’s rivers, creeks and streams. It’s a more hands-on way to fish - paddling moving water, reading current, working structure and exploring places that are best experienced from a kayak.

I’m Cody, owner and guide of Upstream Outfitters.
I’ve spent years fishing Missouri waters, but river smallmouth fishing is what eventually took over. I traded motors and electronics for a paddle, a few rods and the freedom to explore water that’s difficult to reach any other way.
My favorite way to fish is exactly where the Upstream name came from: launch the kayak, work upstream against the current, fish everything worth fishing along the way, and let the river carry you back.
I started Upstream Outfitters to give other anglers access to that same experience without needing to own a fishing kayak, build a river setup or figure everything out themselves.
Whether you already fish smallmouth or you’re picking up a rod for the first time, the goal is the same: put you on good water, teach you what I know, and give you a day on the river worth remembering.
